Allen Kuharski is the Stephen Lang Professor of Performing Arts in the Department of Theater at Swarthmore College, where he has taught since 1990. Allen earned a Ph.D. in Theater from the Department of Dramatic Art at the University of California at Berkeley in 1991. The title of his doctoral dissertion is The Theater of Witold Gombrowicz. Allen is a co-editor of Witold Gombrowicz: Pisma zebrane (published by Wydawnictwo Literackie), and his writings on Gombrowicz and other aspects of contemporary Polish theater have been widely published in Polish, English, and other languages. Allen was named Zasłużony dla kultury polskiej in 2002, and he received the S.I. Witkiewicz Award in 2006. In 2017-2018, he was a Senior Fulbright Scholar at Instytut Badań Literackich / Polskiej Akademii Nauk in Warsaw researching Polish Romantic drama as both text and performance. His long-standing research on the global performance history of Gombrowicz is the basis of the Gombrowicz in Performance database, and he is the principal content curator of the database.
Richard Lowe worked for 32 years working as a technical writer for the company that publishes Web of Science, a large-scale database of citation data and journal abstracts. He has published papers on citation analysis, content management, and relational database design. He holds two Master’s degrees from Drexel University in Philadelphia, one in Library and Information Science and the other in Technical and Scientific Communication. Richard is the chief architect and database administrator of the Gombrowicz in Performance database.
Joshua McLucas is a software engineer and theater artist based in Philadelphia. He graduated from Swarthmore College in 2015 with a B.A. with High Honors in Theater. He remains an active actor and director with a background in original experimental work.
